Arunachal CM eyes French partnership to boost sports, biodiversity and agro-industry

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed enthusiasm for potential collaborations with France to advance the state’s sports infrastructure, biodiversity conservation, and agro-industries. During an October 25 meeting, Khandu engaged with French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou, his wife Madame Cecile Mathou, and Consul General Didier Talpain to discuss areas of cooperation that could shape Arunachal’s future.

Chief Minister Khandu highlighted Arunachal’s passion for football, exploring how French expertise in sports could bolster local talent and enhance the state’s infrastructure. “With a shared passion for football, we’re excited about opportunities to collaborate with French experts to nurture local talent and expand our sports facilities,” he remarked, noting France’s success in sports development.

Biodiversity preservation emerged as another focal point, with discussions centered on establishing natural parks to protect Arunachal’s unique ecosystems. “France’s expertise in biodiversity conservation will be invaluable in developing natural parks that balance preservation with sustainable tourism,” Khandu commented.
