Pema Khandu, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, spoke with a group of postgraduates and graduates from Nagaland and the state who had backgrounds in environmental studies and forestry. The Mobius Young Professionals, who are enrolled in a one-year training program, met CM Khandu. The program, which is run by North East Leaders Connect (NELC) with support from the Mobius Foundation, aims to develop ecopreneurs—leaders who combine economic sustainability with conservation.
“Happy to engage with the Mobius Young Professionals, a vibrant group of graduates/postgraduates from Arunachal and Nagaland with backgrounds in forestry and environmental studies undergoing a one-year training program,” the Arunachal chief minister said on his official X handle. Arunachal Pradesh is the second state to implement the fellowship, building on a successful trial in Nagaland, in accordance with the NELC Tawang Declaration 2023.
On his X, CM Khandu further praised the program, writing, “What sets this initiative apart is its focus on indigenous knowledge—preserving our environment and biodiversity through local wisdom while creating sustainable livelihoods, without external interventions.” At the North East Leaders Connect (NELC) meeting earlier, the chief minister engaged in meaningful conversations and exchanges with leaders who share similar views from a variety of fields. “As a dynamic platform, NELC continues to bring together policymakers, entrepreneurs, academicians, sports personalities, and cultural icons to shape a progressive future for Northeast India,” CM Khandu told X.
