Arunachal CM Pema Khandu reiterates his dedication to closing the state’s digital gap

With Chief Minister Pema Khandu reiterating the state government’s commitment to making sure that no community is left behind in the digital age, Arunachal Pradesh is making impressive progress in terms of digital connectivity. The Chief Minister said in a social media post that the frontier state is “rising on the digital highway,” where technology is empowering communities and opening up new opportunities in addition to connecting far-flung areas. Khandu emphasized the advancement, stating that more than 3,500 villages in the state now have 4G mobile connectivity, greatly reducing the digital divide that formerly divided rural communities from the rest of the country.

In addition, he declared that 5G services have been formally introduced in Itanagar, which represents a revolutionary step toward the capital’s high-speed, next-generation internet access. The Chief Minister reported that 827 gram panchayats have been successfully connected to the internet via VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) lines, which guarantees reliable satellite-based internet access in even the most difficult and remote areas. Furthermore, 531 locations have already been planned under the Digital Bharat Nidhi project to enable wider digital coverage, with the ambitious goal of connecting 1,042 villages throughout the state.
