Arunachal Deputy CM inaugurates Glaw Lake road, steel bridge and Tulow resort to boost tourism

In a bid to enhance connectivity and elevate Arunachal Pradesh’s tourism sector, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated the Glaw Lake Road, a Steel Bridge at Sena Brai, and the Tulow Resort at Parshuram Kund on January 12. These developments are expected to provide a significant boost to the state’s tourism and adventure activities. The Steel Bridge, strategically located to improve access to the Kamlang Tiger Reserve and Glaw Lake, is a vital infrastructure project. Glaw Lake, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, is emerging as a premier trekking destination for adventure enthusiasts. The new road and bridge are expected to facilitate smoother travel to these sites, making them more accessible to both domestic and international tourists.

During the inauguration, Deputy CM Mein highlighted the ecological importance of the Kamlang Tiger Reserve, which has been proposed as a Ramsar site. This designation under the Ramsar Convention would recognize the reserve’s wetlands as globally significant for biodiversity conservation. Mein reiterated his government’s commitment to protecting Arunachal Pradesh’s unique ecosystems while promoting sustainable tourism. Adding to the tourism infrastructure, the Tulow Resort at Parshuram Kund was also unveiled during the event. Developed by local entrepreneur Basan Tayang, the resort offers a serene retreat along the banks of the Lohit River. Combining the spiritual allure of Parshuram Kund with modern amenities, the resort aims to attract pilgrims and nature lovers alike.

Deputy CM Mein commended Mr. Tayang and his team for their contribution to local tourism. “The Tulow Resort is a shining example of how tourism can harmonize with nature and spirituality. I hope this initiative inspires more projects that preserve our cultural and ecological heritage while promoting economic growth,” he said. The inauguration marks another step forward in Arunachal Pradesh’s efforts to position itself as a leading destination for eco-tourism and adventure activities. With improved infrastructure and accommodations, the region is set to draw more visitors, further supporting local communities and businesses.
