Arunachal Dy CM Chowna Mein celebrates 7 years of PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana

As the pension plan has been in place for seven years, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein emphasized the importance of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PM-SYM), characterizing it as a significant step in bolstering financial security for workers in the unorganized sector. “Seven years of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, a landmark pension scheme that provides financial security to workers in the unorganized sector and strengthens social protection for the backbone of India’s workforce,” Mein wrote.

PM-SYM is a voluntary and contributory pension plan that was introduced by the Central Government in 2019 with the goal of giving workers in India’s informal occupations security in old age. After turning 60, eligible workers receive a minimum guaranteed pension of Rs 3,000 per month, with the Central Government matching their contributions made during their working years, currency for rupee. According to Mein, the program is a reflection of the government’s larger commitment to social fairness and inclusive growth.

The Deputy Chief Minister also commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for spearheading India’s overall economic development in a different post on X. “Infrastructure, manufacturing, and economic strength are the three main factors propelling India’s quick development. Our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is guiding and accelerating these sectors with clear vision and decisive leadership,” Mein stated. Additionally, he urged people to take an active role in India’s growth and help create a more powerful, independent country.
