Arunachal Governor honors 23 Assam Rifles members for bravery

In a prestigious ceremony at Raj Bhavan’s Durbar Hall on Wednesday, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik conferred Governor’s Gold and Silver Medals to 23 Assam Rifles personnel for their exceptional bravery and leadership in operations and humanitarian missions.

Governor Parnaik commended the recipients, emphasizing the Assam Rifles’ role in managing insurgency in Northeast India and safeguarding the Myanmar frontier. He highlighted their reputation as “Friends of the North East” and pillars of strength for local communities.

Gold Medals were awarded to Havildars Bhag Singh, Sanjay Kumar, and others, while Silver Medals were presented to personnel like Havildar Yadwinder Singh and Rifleman Lalnghihlova. Brigadier Sarabjeet Singh, Commander of 25 Sector Assam Rifles, also addressed the event, attended by NCC cadets.
