Arunachal security personnel find a weapons stash in Changlang

During a well-coordinated combined operation along the Miao-Vijaynagar road in Changlang district, security forces in Arunachal Pradesh retrieved a massive cache of weapons, according to a defense spokesman. According to the statement, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles used metal detectors, tracker dogs, and specialized drones to carry out the operation in cooperation with Changlang district police.

Within the boundaries of the Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve, ten MQ 81 assault weapons of Chinese provenance and ten type 81 assault rifles were found in various areas along the Miao-Vijaynagar route, spanning 27 miles, according to Kohima-based defense spokesman Lt Col Amit Shukla. According to the spokesman, rebel organizations operating in Changlang for more than six months had been searching for the weapons, which were thought to have been buried by Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) insurgents prior to their surrender last year.

According to Lt Col Shukla, the security forces were able to find the stash hidden in a dense forest region on Saturday by using their knowledge and trustworthy information. According to the spokesman, a number of inputs obtained over the last six months indicated that several insurgent groups, such as NSCM (IM) and NSCN (KYA), had been trying to reclaim the weapons with the assistance of ENNG personnel. The security personnel made sure that the tourists in Namdapha Reserve Forest had a secure journey before the operation began. He claimed that the operation was executed with the highest level of expertise and accuracy, guaranteeing that the weapons would not end up in the hands of insurgents.
