Arunachal’s Drishyamuni Chakma honoured with Bharat Gaurav Yuva Award for social advocacy

Drishyamuni Chakma from Diyun, Arunachal Pradesh, has been conferred the prestigious Bharat Gaurav Yuva Award by Bharat Vikas Sangam. Chakma has been acknowledged for his tireless efforts in promoting sustainable development, child rights advocacy, and fighting against child labor, human trafficking, and drug abuse. Additionally, his initiatives in fostering young entrepreneurship have earned him national acclaim.

The award was presented during Bharat Sanskriti Utsav-7, held in Sedam, Kalaburagi District, Karnataka, from January 29 to February 6, 2025. The festival, led by former RSS Pracharak and BJP General Secretary (Organization) Shri K.N. Govindacharya, along with former Rajya Sabha MP Shri Basawaraj Patil, serves as a platform to unite socially committed individuals working towards national development. Speaking at the event, Govindacharya highlighted the significance of the ‘Sangam’ tradition in India, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in nation-building.

A total of 51 young achievers, aged between 18 and 35, were honored with the Bharat Gaurav Yuva Award for their excellence across diverse fields. The awards were presented by Padma Shri awardee Sunita Krishnan, Retired Major General Pramod K. Sehgal, and spiritual leader Poojya Shri Dnyaraj Manik Prabhu Maharaj.

Among the awardees, three youth representatives from Arunachal Pradesh received national recognition:

Drishyamuni Chakma – for his extensive work in youth empowerment and social advocacy.

Prem Camdir Tallong – former AAPSU Education Secretary and Secretary of the Pakke Paga Hornbill Festival, known for his work in environmental conservation.

Rosy Taba – Member of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and former Member of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).

The event was inaugurated by former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, and witnessed the presence of several state and central ministers, national awardees, and distinguished personalities from various fields.
