In Arunachal Pradesh, a state-of-the-art Digi Kaksha classroom has been inaugurated at the Government Secondary School in Nikja village, near the Indo-China border. This initiative, spearheaded by IAS Deputy Commissioner Vishakha Yadav, aims to revolutionize learning in the remote Kurung Kumey district.The inauguration was conducted by local MLA Pani Taram of the 21st Koloriang Assembly constituency. The Digi Kaksha, or digital learning pavilion, introduces a smart classroom equipped with advanced educational technology, marking a significant step towards enhancing the quality of education in this underserved region.
Vishakha Yadav, an engineer-turned-IAS officer who achieved AIR-6 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination, has been instrumental in bringing innovative educational solutions to Arunachal Pradesh. Having previously launched a similar initiative in Tirap district, Yadav is now expanding her efforts to Kurung Kumey, driven by a vision to incorporate smart classes in all government schools across the state. In an interview with India Today, Yadav highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “My goal is to have smart classes in all government schools of Arunachal. The poor Class 10 results prompted us to introduce this initiative. Government schools often lack the necessary infrastructure and technology, which undermines the quality of education despite the dedication of teachers. We have preloaded all content onto a 512GB hard disk in the Android board to address connectivity issues in remote areas.”
MLA Pani Taram praised the initiative, noting the gap between government and private school facilities. “This effort aims to bridge that gap and enhance the competitiveness of students from government schools. We are committed to implementing smart class systems in all such schools to improve educational quality,” Taram said. The Digi Kaksha features a 4K HD interactive Android teaching board, a first of its kind in any government school in the state. It offers immersive learning experiences with pre-loaded content from Nursery to Class 12, including virtual experiments and interactive simulations aligned with the CBSE curriculum. This initiative represents a collaborative effort between the Kurung Kumey district administration, various NGOs, and local sponsors, marking a significant advancement in educational infrastructure for the region.
