Assam SEBA HSLC Results 2026: Jyotirmay Das Secures Top Rank with Near-Perfect Score

The Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) officially announced the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Class 10 results for 2026 today, with Jyotirmay Das emerging as the state topper by securing an incredible 591 marks out of 600. The results, which were declared during a press conference in Guwahati, showcased an impressive overall pass percentage of 82.4%, reflecting a steady improvement in the state’s academic performance. Jyotirmay, a student from the Barpeta district, achieved a near-perfect score, missing only nine marks across all subjects, and has attributed his success to consistent self-study and the unwavering support of his teachers and parents. Close on his heels, the second position was shared by two students, Bidisha Neog and Arnab Jyoti Baruah, both scoring 588 marks, while the third spot was clinched by Manash Pratim Deka with 585 marks. The merit list this year was notably diverse, with students from rural government schools significantly outperforming several private institutions in the top 10 rankings.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated the successful candidates on social media, specifically praising Jyotirmay for his exceptional feat and encouraging those who did not pass to remain resilient and try again. The state government has also announced that the “Anundoram Borooah Award,” which includes a cash prize and citations, will be conferred upon all students scoring 75% and above to promote higher education. Schools across the state celebrated the results with distribution of sweets, though the Board has advised students to download their digital marksheets from the official portal (sebaonline.org) for immediate use in the admission process. Educators have noted that the 2026 results show a narrowing gap between male and female candidates’ performance, with girls outperforming boys in several key districts like Majuli and Sivasagar. As the admission window for Higher Secondary courses prepares to open next week, Jyotirmay Das has become a household name in Assam, inspiring thousands of juniors with his story of dedication and academic excellence.
