ATM Engineer robbed of Rs 1.5 lakh in Itanagar, police launch manhunt

In a brazen daylight robbery, an ATM engineer was robbed of Rs 1.5 lakh while working at a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM in Itanagar’s Bank Tinali area on October 28, police reported.

Superintendent of Police (Capital) Rohit Rajbir Singh stated that Dipak Deori, an engineer with Hitachi Payment Services, had just collected the cash from the local SBI branch for testing the cash deposit machine when the incident occurred. While Deori was checking the machine, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle snatched his bag containing the cash and sped away.

A case has been filed, and police have launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the vicinity has been retrieved, and checkpoints across the Capital Complex have been alerted as authorities intensify the search for the suspects.
