Boost to Mineral Exploration as Arunachal Govt Inks Key Agreements

The Arunachal Pradesh government has entered into three agreements with OIL India Limited, Vedanta Limited, and Orissa Metallik Private Limited for the exploration of strategic mineral blocks featuring graphite and vanadium in locations such as Depo (Papum Pare), Phop (Keyi Panyor), and Radhpu. These agreements were formalized through composite licence deeds executed by the State Department of Geology and Mining. Chief Minister Pema Khandu emphasized that the exploration of these critical minerals is essential for enhancing electric mobility, energy storage, and high-tech sectors, while also aiming to generate employment and promote sustainable economic growth in the state. He reiterated the government’s commitment to a transparent and community-focused approach to mineral development for the benefit of Arunachal Pradesh’s residents.
