Chowna Mein pitches Arunachal as next adventure tourism hub after rafting the Dibang

Following an exciting river-rafting trip on the powerful Dibang River at Dambuk in Lower Dibang Valley district with former chief minister Mukut Mithi, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein highlighted the state’s enormous eco and adventure tourism potential. Arunachal Pradesh’s burgeoning attractiveness as a center for eco-tourism and adventure sports in the Lower Dibang Valley was reinforced on Saturday by the exhilarating journey over difficult rapids amid pristine forests and striking landscapes, which underlined the Dibang’s raw strength and untamed beauty.

Mein wrote on social media that rafting the Dibang was “an experience of raw power, pristine forests, and pure adventure.” He added that the Dibang is one of the most alluring adventure sites in the area due to its magnificent beauty and exhilarating rapids, reflecting the wild spirit and enormous eco-tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh. Rafting over the river’s breathtaking scenery was “truly unforgettable,” according to Mein, who recalled the trip with Mithi and welcomed guests to take part in the unique experience.

The deputy chief minister highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting responsible adventure tourism that supports sustainable livelihoods for local communities while protecting the state’s natural heritage. He said adventure tourism will be developed in a way that benefits local people and safeguards the environment. The expedition was organized by KABOS Adventure, which has been instrumental in promoting adventure sports and establishing Dambuk as a key hub for adventure, culture, and tourism through activities like river rafting, trekking, cycling, and adventure additions to the Orange Festival.
