Cloudburst In Dirang Causes Damages

On June 27, a cloudburst struck Dirang town and nearby areas in West Kameng district, causing significant damage to both private and government properties. Fortunately, there were no casualties. In the Sapper locality, several houses belonging to local residents were affected. The 90 Road Construction Company (RCC) of the 42 Border Roads Task Force (BRTF), operating under Project Vartak and stationed in Dirang, was among the first to respond to the disaster.

Acting swiftly, the team ensured the safety of civilians and initiated immediate evacuation efforts, relocating residents from the impacted zones to safer areas. Restoration work was carried out urgently, particularly focusing on repairing damaged homes, which was completed in record time.

Officials from Project Vartak reaffirmed their dedication to the well-being of the local population and emphasized their ongoing commitment to disaster response and community support. They also highlighted their readiness to respond effectively to any future emergencies across the region.
