In Delhi, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. CM Reddy urged the Union Education Minister to establish Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya schools in certain Telangana regions, as well as to approve an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad. At the Union Minister’s chambers in the Parliament, the Chief Minister and Minister Pradhan had a meeting.
The CM informed the union minister during the meeting about Hyderabad’s rapid growth in the fields of technology, life sciences, aerospace, defense, logistics, and advanced manufacturing, as well as the pressing need to create an IIM in the ancient city. CM Revanth Reddy stated that the Union government has established 21 IIMs in 19 states and one Union Territory, with a focus on the creation of an IIM in Telangana. The Chief Minister told the Union Minister that the University of Hyderabad campus already had the 200 acres of land needed to create the IIM.
Additionally, the transit campus building is prepared to start IIM classes right away. According to the Chief Minister, the state government will give the facilities and licenses needed for the IIM’s establishment. The Chief Minister briefed the Union Education Minister about the comprehensive connectivity from Hyderabad to the rest of the country and the city’s historical significance in producing notable figures. He emphasized that establishing an IIM in Hyderabad would enhance educational opportunities for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Additionally, CM Revanth Reddy requested the sanctioning of 9 new Kendriya Vidyalayas and 16 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to align with the increased number of districts in Telangana, emphasizing that this would facilitate quality education for both rural and urban students. He particularly urged for the immediate establishment of Kendriya Vidyalayas in specific districts including Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, and others.
