Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated 75 transformative infrastructure projects of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) with 18 of them situated in Arunachal Pradesh. These projects include three key roads, 14 bridges, and a helipad executed under Projects Brahmank, Vartak, and Udayak. Under Project Vartak, three critical roads spanning 25.29 km have been completed at a total cost of Rs 139.14 crore. These include the T Gonpa-Lungrola road (13.26 km), Y Jn Pt 4474 road (5.83 km), and the Lungrola-Triple Heights road (6.20 km).
Several key bridges have also been constructed, notably the 75-metre Amartala-I bridge on the Orang-Kalkatang-Shergaon-Rupa-Tenga road and the 50-metre Daung bridge on the Balipara-Charduar-Tawang road. The overall expenditure on the bridge projects amounts to Rs 73.03 crore.
Governor KT Parnaik and Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted the strategic importance of these projects for national security and the socioeconomic development of border areas. Law Minister Kento Jini, attending from Aalo, emphasized the improved connectivity and future prospects for the state.
