Delhi police have arrested Ruby Jain and her husband Harsh Singh for allegedly making racist remarks towards three girls from Arunachal Pradesh in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi. This incident, which took place on February 20, was sparked by an altercation related to dust and debris caused by electrical installation work being performed by the complainants at their rented fourth-floor apartment. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has confirmed the arrests, emphasizing that stringent legal action will be taken in response to the incident, which draws attention to the persistent issues of racial discrimination faced by individuals from Northeast India. The police have filed a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are committed to pursuing thorough investigations to ensure that appropriate legal measures are enforced against those accused.
