Elaborate security arrangements in place for PM Modi’s Itanagar visit on September 22

According to a senior police source, extensive security preparations have been prepared for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Itanagar on September 22. According to Capital Superintendent of Police Jummar Basar, security and surveillance have been strengthened in anticipation of the PM’s visit. In addition to launching the second phase of the revolutionary Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) from Indira Gandhi Park here, the PM will lay the groundwork for the 1830-kilometer Frontier Highway project and hydroelectric projects at Tato in Shi Yomi district. The ambitious Frontier Highway project connects Vijaynagar in Changlang district to Bomdila in West Kameng district, running parallel to the McMohan Line.

In addition to improving border connectivity, it would strengthen India’s national security. Additionally, Modi will build the groundwork for the 240 Mw Heo hydroelectric project and the 186 Mw Tato-I hydropower project over the Yarjep River. The Prime Minister will officially open the integrated, cutting-edge convention center in Tawang and begin the second phase of the Vibrant Village Programme (VVP). 122 more villages (67 along the Indo-Myanmar border and 55 on the Indo-Bhutan border) will get all-weather roads, 4G telecom and TV access, and on-grid electrification as part of the ongoing VVP phase II. For the VVP projects, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs had approved a budget of Rs 2205 crore.
