Flames tear through Walong in Arunachal Pradesh, minister urges caution

A large fire consumed Walong town in Arunachal Pradesh’s Anjaw district, causing inhabitants to become alarmed and necessitating immediate safety precautions. The size of the fire and its effects on the area worried local MLA and Minister Dasanglu Pul. She urged locals and visitors to travel with utmost caution and to adhere strictly to any safety warnings given by authorities. Pul stated that community safety must always come first and urged everyone to refrain from any careless behavior that would endanger people’s lives, property, or the environment.

She urged the locals to act responsibly and assist efforts to limit the harm, describing Walong as a shared natural asset. She also threatened severe legal action if anyone caught willfully hurting others or trying to disturb the tranquility in the region. Pul called on the public to unite, work with first responders, and protect the welfare of people in the Anjaw district and throughout the state. While emergency personnel continue to work in the impacted areas, authorities are determining the extent of the damage.
