Following a child’s injury in the Children’s Park of Kasa Resort in Ziro earlier this month due to alleged negligence, the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) has demanded stringent safety regulations at children’s parks and tourist destinations. APSCPCR Chairperson Ratan Anya emphasized the importance of preventive action and instructed officials to guarantee adequate safety infrastructure at such recreational locations while presiding over a review meeting at Ziro in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. The incident happened last October 2.
The district administration promptly ordered the park to be closed to all tourist activities, according to Assistant Commissioner Radhe Tatung. A board consisting of an administrative officer, police, and a PWD JE was established to inspect the site and provide a report, which was discussed during the meeting. The attending physician provided members with an update on the child’s health and the technical aspects of the case, while Ojing Lego, the deputy superintendent of police, gave a briefing on the police action taken. Appreciating the prompt action taken by the police, administration, and parents who brought the issue to their attention, Anya ordered that safety and warning signs be put up in children’s parks and tourist destinations, that police and ambulance emergency numbers be clearly posted, and that first-aid kits be provided at all of these locations.
