Fong Fong Ma Falls set to soar as adventure tourism hub with zipline and giant swing

In a major push to promote eco-adventure tourism in Arunachal Pradesh, the scenic Fong Fong Ma Falls, located near Jang on the way to Tawang, has received two thrilling new additions—a 410-meter zipline and a 30-meter-high giant swing. The inauguration of these facilities by Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday marks a new chapter in turning the lesser-known waterfall into a must-visit destination for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike.

Speaking during the inauguration, CM Khandu said the project is part of a long-term vision to develop Fong Fong Ma Falls as a holistic eco-tourism site that blends natural beauty, local culture, and adventure experiences. The adventure park project was executed under the supervision of the Public Works Department (PWD), Jang Division.“This is just the beginning,” the Chief Minister wrote on social media shortly after the event, adding that more additions are already in the pipeline. Planned developments include a glass bridge, bungee jumping platforms, artificial water bodies, and a range of other visitor-friendly amenities to enhance the overall experience.

The newly introduced attractions are already drawing attention for their unique location and immersive natural surroundings. The zipline, which spans 410 meters, gives visitors a bird’s-eye view of the lush greenery and cascading falls, while the giant swing offers a thrilling dive over the valley, making it a first-of-its-kind adventure option in the region.
