Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla presented Gajar ka halwa, a unique dessert created for space by ISRO and DRDO, to his fellow astronauts during a memorable evening of Axiom Mission 4 aboard the International Space Station.
The festive meal included a varied menu featuring rehydrated shrimp cocktails, savory chicken fajitas, and a cake made from sweet bread, condensed milk, and walnuts, which reflected the diversity of the international crew.
Shukla’s Gajar ka halwa, an Indian carrot dessert, stood out at a space food event, representing innovation and the sharing of cultural traditions. Astronaut Jonny Kim appreciated the evening, emphasizing the unifying nature of food and the increasing importance of international collaboration in space missions.
