General Assembly Adopts International Day Against Colonialism

The UN General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a new resolution establishing an annual International Day against Colonialism in All Its Forms and Manifestations, to be observed every December 14, starting in 2025. The resolution was adopted by a recorded vote of 116 in favor, underscoring the UN’s commitment to the principle of self-determination and the complete eradication of colonialism worldwide.
