Governor KT Parnaik highlights road infrastructure’s role in Arunachal’s development

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) has emphasized the crucial role of road infrastructure in driving the state’s socio-economic development and strengthening national security. During a meeting at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday with Brig. Ashish Gupta (Retd.), Executive Director (Projects) of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), the Governor underscored the urgent need for well-constructed and well-maintained roads.

Brig. Gupta briefed Governor Parnaik on the progress of NHIDCL projects in the state. In response, the Governor stressed the direct impact of infrastructure development on Arunachal Pradesh’s growth, highlighting that seamless road connectivity is essential for economic progress, better accessibility, and improved livelihoods.”Efficient road networks are vital for timely development, market expansion, and overall prosperity,” said Governor Parnaik. He pointed out that improved connectivity would enhance accessibility for farmers and entrepreneurs while also playing a critical role in safeguarding national security along Arunachal Pradesh’s international borders.

The Governor further highlighted the potential of better road infrastructure in unlocking the state’s tourism sector and facilitating the export of agricultural produce such as kiwis and oranges. He urged NHIDCL to accelerate the completion of key road projects while ensuring high standards of quality and durability.Governor Parnaik reaffirmed NHIDCL’s crucial role in shaping Arunachal Pradesh’s future, calling for a coordinated effort among all stakeholders to expedite infrastructure projects. “A strong road network will serve as a backbone for the state’s progress, security, and prosperity,” he concluded.
