Lt Gen K. T. Parnaik (Retd.), the governor of Arunachal Pradesh, underlined the importance of timely welfare program implementation, timely financial aid disbursement, and efficient grievance redressal procedures for state-wide ex-servicemen. At Lok Bhavan, the Governor met with Air Commodore R. D. Mosabi (Retd.), the Director-cum-Secretary of the state’s Rajya Sainik Board, to discuss welfare initiatives that the board has undertaken. They had in-depth conversations about effective coordination with the Armed Forces and government agencies, resettlement and employment assistance, and the welfare of former service members and their dependents.
The governor expressed his concern for the well-being of his former comrade in arms and reaffirmed the state’s dedication to protecting the welfare of Veer Naris and his family members by implementing welfare programs on time, providing financial support, and promptly resolving grievances. In order to guarantee broader exposure and direct engagement, he also recommended planning ex-servicemen rallies in coordination with Indian Armed Forces units based in Arunachal Pradesh.
Lt Gen (Retd) Parnaik emphasized the need for dignified resettlement of ex-servicemen, calling for concrete measures in skill development, employment support, and self-employment guidance. He urged the Rajya Sainik Board to act as a strong coordinating body among the Armed Forces, government, and Sainik Boards. On Saturday, Mizoram Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), along with First Lady Bharti Singh, attended the state-level ex-servicemen rally at Lammual ground, Aizawl, also attended by Home Minister K. Sapdanga. The Governor praised Mizoram’s ex-servicemen for their discipline and conduct, describing the rally as a symbol of mutual respect and trust between civilians and the armed forces.
