Governor visits LAC outpost in Tawang, urges troops to stay alert and strong

Arunachal Governor K.T. Parnaik visited a forward border outpost near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Tawang district and interacted with Indian armed forces personnel, encouraging them to maintain high morale and remain prepared for the challenges of border duty.The governor, who is currently on a visit to Tawang, travelled to the remote Khenzemane outpost located close to the LAC. During his visit, he met troops of the Indian Army and personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, and took stock of their wellbeing.He asked the personnel about their daily life in the difficult terrain, including how they stay in touch with their families while serving in remote areas. The governor stressed that physical fitness, mental strength, discipline, and unity are essential for maintaining operational readiness and ensuring national security.

Referring to the importance of local support, he advised the forces to maintain strong and friendly relations with people living in border areas. He said that trust and cooperation between civilians and the armed forces play a key role in safeguarding the region.Recalling the Sino-Indian War of 1962, the governor noted that local communities had supported the armed forces during difficult times and helped them navigate the terrain.The visit was accompanied by Brigadier Bhupal Singh, Commander of the 190 Mountain Brigade.

Later, the governor visited the ‘Border Brew Café’ at Zemithang, where he praised a local initiative that reflects community participation and self-reliance. He appreciated the role of the Army in supporting such efforts for the development of border areas.According to officials, the café is being run by the ‘Bap Teng Kang’ Women Self Help Group and was set up by the 5 Mountain Division under Operation Sadhbhavana. Colonel Rohan Khisti said the initiative is helping create livelihood opportunities and strengthen local communities.
