In a landmark initiative focused on inclusive development and entrepreneurial empowerment, IIMA Ventures, in collaboration with SAP, has launched the North East Growth Lab (NEGL)—a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)-driven program to support 90 startups and social enterprises across all eight northeastern states of India. Built on the foundation of the World Bank-backed Assam Agribusiness Growth Lab (AAGL), NEGL aims to foster sustainable growth by providing catalytic capital, mentoring, capacity building, and market access.
Over the next three years, NEGL targets the creation of ₹100 crore in enterprise value and intends to positively impact over 500,000 individuals from low- and middle-income communities. The initiative highlights responsible business leadership with a deep focus on community transformation through innovation and entrepreneurship. Notable ventures already supported include Dream Hives (honey-based mead), Fuloni (biodegradable pots), and Pustikor Foods (Joha rice cookies).
The capital of Nagaland, NEGL is expected to uplift local enterprises in handloom, handicrafts, and organic farming. With its vibrant cultural heritage and growing youth entrepreneurship. NEGL is being implemented in collaboration with NABARD, NEDFI, NEHHDC, NERAMAC, and the Ministry of DoNER.
