Indian investigators have informed lawmakers that the black boxes that were damaged in the Air India crash remain intact

Indian investigators confirmed that the black boxes of the Air India airliner crash were not damaged, revealing crucial data for reconstructing the crash’s events.

The black boxes—the plane’s flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder—were found in the days following the disaster, one from debris on June 16 and one from a rooftop at the scene on June 13.

According to a Reuters article last month, the crash inquiry had concentrated on the movement of the plane’s fuel control switches and, to some extent, engine thrust problems.

Since the tragedy, Air India has been under a lot of scrutiny. According to one of the sources, the airline provided updates on its post-crash efforts and its CEO, Campbell Wilson, addressed the committee.

EU Aviation Safety Agency plans to investigate Air India Express for failing to follow directives, falsifying records, and breaching rules on escape slides.
