President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced today that he is willing to put the 20-point peace plan developed in Florida to a national referendum, provided Russia agrees to a minimum 60-day ceasefire. In a phone interview, Zelenskyy stated that while he continues to negotiate for a stronger territorial position, any “very difficult” decisions regarding sovereignty should be decided by the Ukrainian people. This move is seen as a way to gain domestic legitimacy for a potential deal that could end the four-year-old conflict.
