The sacred festival of Makar Sankranti was celebrated with religious fervour at Aakashi Ganga in Likabali, located in Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, on Wednesday. A large number of devotees, including pilgrims from neighbouring Assam, gathered at the holy site to take part in the auspicious occasion. The festival was conducted smoothly with coordinated efforts by the Malini Vikash Parishad and the Lower Siang district administration, ensuring a peaceful and well-managed environment for devotees.To maintain law and order and manage the heavy footfall, additional police personnel were deployed at the site. Traffic movement was regulated effectively, and special cordon arrangements were put in place to prevent congestion around the sacred area. In-charge Deputy Commissioner Ainstein Kyou and Superintendent of Police Gothombu Dajangju visited the site and personally monitored the arrangements, ensuring safety, security, and overall vigilance throughout the celebrations. Considering public health and safety, a medical assistance stall was also set up at the venue to provide immediate aid to devotees if required. The district administration expressed satisfaction over the peaceful observance of the festival and appreciated the cooperation extended by devotees, volunteers, and all line departments involved in the successful conduct of the event.
