Over 118 Flights Cancelled at Delhi’s IGI Airport as Visibility Drops to Near Zero

A massive blanket of dense fog has brought air and rail travel to a standstill across Northern India. At Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, visibility dropped below 350 meters this morning, leading to the cancellation of at least 118 flights and delays for over 200 others. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has issued a “red alert” advisory, warning of cascading delays that could impact travel plans through the New Year’s Eve period. Similar conditions have been reported in Punjab and Haryana, with several long-distance trains running up to 10 hours behind schedule.
