Papum Pare administration conducts final review ahead of Panchayat Elections

Papum Pare district has stepped into the final phase of its preparations for the upcoming Panchayati Raj Elections, with the administration conducting a detailed assessment of ground readiness. Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (PR) Vishakha Yadav chaired a comprehensive Poll Day Preparatory Review Meeting at the DC Conference Hall in Yupia, bringing together senior officers and election functionaries to ensure that all arrangements are firmly in place.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed key components of election management that will play a crucial role on polling day. Officials presented updates on poll-day logistics, transport and communication mechanisms, deployment of personnel, and preparations at strong rooms and counting centres. A detailed report was also taken on sensitive and vulnerable polling stations, where additional security measures will be implemented to maintain order.

The administration discussed contingency plans to tackle unexpected challenges such as equipment malfunction, connectivity issues or weather-related disruptions. Yadav emphasised the importance of advance coordination between all departments, noting that the success of the elections depends on the efficiency and preparedness of every team involved.

Reiterating the district’s commitment to conducting elections that are free, fair and peaceful, the DC urged officers to remain vigilant and ensure that every voter is able to participate without any difficulty. She stressed that systematic coordination, timely communication and preparedness on the ground are essential for smooth polling.

The meeting was attended by SP Papum Pare Taru Gusar, SP ICR Jummar Basar, all Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers, ADC Tame Yajum, and various nodal officers overseeing different aspects of the election process. Together, the officials outlined a unified approach to manage polling operations efficiently across the district.
