Parineeti Chopra told she used to cut rasgulla on her birthday as her parents were unable to buy a cake, reminiscing travelling in business class to Kenya every year

Parineeti Chopra, who grew up in Ambala, recently said that her parents were going through a tough time financially when she was growing up. Parineeti said that there were times when her father did not have enough money to buy a birthday cake, so he would buy a piece of rasgulla or rasmalai and she would cut the birthday cake with her family.
She also revealed that during the same years, her maternal grandparents who lived in Kenya were so rich that they would fly her and her brothers to Nairobi in business class.
In a conversation with Mashable Middle East, Parineeti said that her parents instilled in her a “lovely mindset” so that she could adapt to all kinds of environments.
Talking about her childhood in Ambala, she said, “We actually grew up with very few facilities.” She then revealed that she has seen her parents struggle during those years and how the family used to share a piece of rasgulla on birthdays as they were unable to buy a birthday cake.
“I have seen my parents struggle when they did not have money to buy a birthday cake for me and my dad would go to the market and buy a piece of rasgulla, not just a kilo, a piece of rasgulla or rasmalai and we would cut that rasmalai like a birthday cake,” she said.
In the same chat, Parineeti revealed that her maternal grandparents, who lived in Nairobi, Kenya, were quite “rich” and so her grandfather would take her and her two brothers to Nairobi for summer vacations every year.
“My grandparents, who lived in Kenya, were very rich. So I used to go from Ambala, where we had almost nothing, and I used to go there for 2 months every year and live this luxurious life because I used to go for my summer holidays,” she said.
Parineeti said that because of the diversity she got in her childhood, she believes she can adjust anywhere. She said, “That’s why me and both my brothers, I feel we can adjust anywhere with anyone. We can be friends with anyone.”
