Peaceful Repolling Conducted in Four Arunachal Districts

Repolling in the panchayat elections across four districts of Arunachal Pradesh took place without incident, as confirmed by the State Election Commissioner Rinchin Tashi. The voting process started at 7 am and ended at 1 pm, maintaining a tranquil atmosphere. Voter turnout varied across the districts: in Bichom, 231 out of 340 electors participated, resulting in a turnout of 67.94%; in Kamle, 171 of 222 registered voters cast their votes, marking a 77.03% turnout; Namsai saw 50 out of 58 voters, an 86.21% turnout; and Tirap recorded 258 out of 308 voters, achieving an 83.77% turnout. The repolling occurred at seven polling stations, including locations in Bichom, Namsai, Kamle, and Tirap, following prior reports of irregularities. The State Election Commission mandated this re-polling to ensure a fair electoral process.
