Prior to power projects, Arunachal Deputy CM calls for the prompt completion of transmission lines

Chowna Mein, the deputy chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, emphasized that power evacuation infrastructure must be finished in tandem with future generation projects and urged the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) to guarantee the timely laying of transmission lines. Mein, who chaired a review meeting on the comprehensive plan to strengthen the transmission and distribution system in Itanagar, stated that the commissioning of the Lower Subansiri Hydro Electric Project and several other power projects in the works make it imperative that transmission lines be installed ahead of time so that generated electricity can be transmitted promptly.

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the wider importance of dependable energy, stating that it is not just a basic need but also a crucial basis for livelihoods, healthcare, education, industrial expansion, and the state’s overall economic development. Mein reaffirmed that the state government is still committed to improving power connectivity, guaranteeing a consistent and high-quality supply of electricity, and promoting inclusive development in Arunachal Pradesh’s rural and urban areas.

The commissioning of several transmission and distribution assets, the construction of priority transmission lines, and the settlement of a number of long-standing infrastructure issues were among the major achievements under the plan that were examined by authorities during the conference. Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte, Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor, ministers, and high-ranking government officials attended the review meeting, where they talked about how to speed up the state’s electricity infrastructure development.
