The Doimukh police have cracked a high-value burglary case involving stolen property worth ₹2.57 crore. Two suspects have been arrested, and a substantial portion of the stolen goods has been recovered following an intensive investigation that lasted over a week. The burglary occurred between June 17 and June 25 at the residence of Techi Tania, a resident of Tigdo village, while the family was away. The stolen items included a significant quantity of gold jewellery, valuable traditional ornaments, and cash, making it one of the most expensive burglary cases reported in the region in recent years.
After the victim lodged a written complaint, a case (Doimukh PS Case No. 82/25) was registered under Sections 331(1) and 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The case was taken up on priority by the local police under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Taru Gusar and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), with the operation headed on ground by ASI TD Goiba. Based on reliable local intelligence and surveillance, the team managed to identify and detain two young suspects — Nabam Ako (22) and Teri Apang (19), both residents of Tigdo village. During interrogation, the duo confessed to the crime and revealed the locations where the stolen goods had been hidden.
Acting on their statements, the police conducted raids in Rono and Tigdo villages on June 28, successfully recovering the stolen items. Officials confirmed that the recovered property has been documented using the eSakhya mobile application, a digital platform ensuring transparent and tamper-proof seizure records.
