Samsung India announces regional shortlists for CSR program

Samsung India has unveiled the 100 teams selected to participate in its flagship CSR initiative, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’. This initiative aims to foster innovation and problem-solving skills among India’s youth by shortlisting 50 teams each from the ‘School Track’ and ‘Youth Track’. These teams will now advance to compete in regional rounds starting mid-July.

The competition this year has extended its outreach to include remote regions like Khurda in Odisha, Kachar and Kamrup Rural in Assam, and Amreli in Gujarat. In the ‘Youth Track’, participants focused on themes of ‘environment and sustainability’, addressing critical issues such as deforestation, plastic waste management, and water conservation. Meanwhile, the ‘School Track’ centered on ‘community and inclusion’, highlighting solutions for mental health, LGBTQ+ inclusivity, and digital literacy among underprivileged communities.Ahead of the regional competitions, 232 participants from these diverse teams will undergo comprehensive training in presentation and communication skills. SP Chun, Corporate Vice President of Samsung Southwest Asia, commended the caliber of ideas and emphasized the initiative’s role in fostering local innovation.

From an Itanagar market perspective, the initiative has sparked significant interest, driving entrepreneurial spirit and problem-solving initiatives within the local community.The top two teams from each of the five regions in both tracks will progress to the national finals, receiving intensive mentorship and visiting Samsung’s Regional Headquarters in Gurugram and R&D Centers across India.
