The Sant Eshwer Foundation marked a major milestone this year as it celebrated the 10th anniversary of its flagship initiative, the Sant Eshwer Samman, with a grand ceremony held at the Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam Auditorium in New Delhi. The event symbolised a decade of the foundation’s relentless dedication to identifying and celebrating India’s silent changemakers — those who have transformed lives at the grassroots level through selfless service and compassion. Since its inception in 2015, the Sant Eshwer Samman has emerged as one of India’s most respected platforms for recognising social reformers working in areas often overlooked by mainstream recognition. Over the past ten years, the foundation has honoured 153 individuals and organisations, distributing more than ₹3 crore in support of their work in tribal upliftment, rural development, women and child welfare, education, and community service rooted in Indian cultural and ethical values.
This year’s ceremony continued that legacy, with 18 exceptional awardees being honoured across three categories — Vishisht Sewa Samman, Sewa Samman, and Vishesh Sewa Samman. The total award amount distributed this year stood at ₹32 lakh, reflecting the foundation’s growing commitment to supporting impactful social work across India. The prestigious gathering was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS); Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare; and Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The event also brought together leading academicians, social workers, and civil society leaders from across the country. Delivering his address, Kapil Khanna, Founder and Chairman of the Sant Eshwer Foundation, reflected on the organisation’s decade-long journey.
“Ten years ago, we began with a modest vision — to recognise those who serve silently without seeking the spotlight. Today, as we celebrate these heroes, we feel humbled and inspired. Our growing Sant Eshwer family stands united by values of service, humility, and compassion,” he said. Adding to the evening’s highlights was the unveiling of a coffee-table book titled “Building the Better Bharat”, chronicling inspiring stories and achievements from the award’s ten-year journey. The publication documents the lives of several past honourees who have worked tirelessly in rural and tribal belts, turning adversity into opportunity. Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, in his address, lauded the foundation’s efforts, saying, “The spirit of ‘Swadeshi Bharat’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ lies in self-reliance achieved through collective strength. The Sant Eshwer Foundation’s recognition of selfless social workers truly embodies this vision and reinforces the values that unite us as a nation.”
