Sigar military station hosts major joint exercise

To enhance regional security and operational effectiveness, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps, in collaboration with the ITBP and Assam Rifles, conducted a comprehensive joint training exercise at Sigar Military Station in East Siang district. The training, held from July 18 to August 3, 2024, focused on refining artillery fire direction skills. This exercise aimed to improve coordination and combined operational capabilities among the three forces.

The joint exercise involved thirteen units of the Indian Army, sixteen regiments of the ITBP, and five units of the Assam Rifles. A key feature of the training was the use of advanced technology, including a training simulator, to provide an extensive and realistic shooting experience. Participants engaged in a series of sessions designed to enhance their proficiency in artillery firing and rapid response drills.

An official from the Sigar Military Station highlighted the success of the training, noting its role in strengthening inter-force coordination and operational readiness. The exercise underscores the commitment of all participating units to maintaining high standards of security and efficiency in the region.
