Skoda Auto India sales to downgrade 26.3% in 2024

Skoda did not launch any new car in 2024 except for the Kyloq, which is available for sale this year
Skoda Auto India has seen a 26.3% drop in sales in the calendar year 2024. The company announced that it sold 36,000 vehicles from January to December 2024, as against 48,800 units sold in the same period in 2023.
The company did not launch any new in 2024 and only made updates to the Kushaq and Slavia in 2023 and hence the demand for both the vehicles went down.
Skoda sold 19300 units of the Kushaq, registering a 27.4% drop in sales year-on-year, while the Slavia had 16,000 units to its name and saw a 19.6% drop.
However, the drop in sales is likely to be temporary as the company has now launched the Qilaq, which falls in the very competitive subcompact SUV segment.
With the Qilaq, Skoda Auto India plans to regain lost ground and aggressive pricing is likely to tip the balance in its favour, although it lags far behind its rivals when it comes to the features it offers, including the lack of ADAS.
We wait to see how 2025 turns out for the company because with the Qilaq, it is targeting new export markets and also looking to expand its market share.
