The Outdoor Stadium in Jang, Tawang district, Arunachal Pradesh, has reached a significant milestone by achieving certification under the “FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf – FIFA Quality” standard. This prestigious recognition marks a major step forward in enhancing football infrastructure in the region.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu celebrated this achievement on his X handle, highlighting that the certification of Jang’s football turf reflects the state’s commitment to promoting football development. He stated, “We believe that good infrastructure will pave the way for nurturing young talent and elevating sports culture in the region.”
In addition to the turf certification, CM Khandu announced on October 4 that the eagerly awaited second edition of the Tawang Marathon will take place on October 24, 2024. The event is set to attract runners from across the nation, offering a unique opportunity to race at an altitude of 10,000 feet. Organized jointly by the Indian Army and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the Tawang Marathon promises participants an unforgettable experience against the backdrop of the region’s stunning landscapes, often referred to as the “land of mystic mountains.”
