The Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) has expressed its approval of the state government’s initiative to reinstate the Arunachal State Games on an annual basis and has committed to participating in the upcoming 4th Northeast Games organized by the Tripura Olympic Association. A committee consisting of four members has been established to analyze and present an action plan for the state sports disciplines that qualify for the Olympic Games and are affiliated with the AOA. The meeting reached a unanimous decision to endorse amendments to the AOA’s memorandum as well as the rules and regulations proposed by three members of the expert committee. The AOA has de-affiliated 22 sports associations due to their lack of performance, and an ad hoc committee will be formed for the Arunachal Athletics Association. The meeting underscored the importance of cooperation between the government and sports associations in order to fulfill the objectives of the Olympic mission.
