In a bid to enhance learning conditions, the office of the Naharlagun Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) provided tables and chairs for the pre-primary and primary students of the Government Primacy School on Friday.
This initiative was led by Naharlagun EAC Khoda Bath and Circle Officer (CO) Nani Mamung.
During a recent inspection of the school, it was observed that the children were learning in difficult circumstances – sitting on mats, with only a few having access to tables and lacking proper chairs. The school, situated near a seasonal river, becomes particularly hard to reach during the monsoon season, yet students persistently attend classes with remarkable determination to learn.
Acknowledging this dedication and the necessity for improved infrastructure, the CO took the initiative to supply essential classroom furniture. The donation is intended to improve the learning environment for the students, who had previously managed with minimal resources.
The visit also featured an interactive session with the children, where officials motivated them to continue their studies diligently despite the challenges.
Teachers and parents expressed their appreciation for the gesture and hoped it would signify the start of ongoing support for remote schools like theirs.
The EAC office reiterated its commitment to enhancing educational access and infrastructure in the region, particularly for children in vulnerable and geographically challenging areas. (DIPRO)
