The government of Arunachal Pradesh gives workers a 2% rise in DA and DR

The government of Arunachal Pradesh announced a 2 percent rise in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR), which would take effect on January 1, 2025, and raise the current rate from 53% to 55% of basic pay and pension. According to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), this improvement will benefit All India Services (AIS) officers working for or posted under the state government, central government employees on deputation to the Arunachal Pradesh government, state government employees, as well as pensioners and family pensioners.

According to the report, the expected total financial impact of this modification is Rs 73.22 crore over 14 months, with Rs 5.23 crore invested per month. It stated that the financial implications for DA and DR for the four-month period from January to April 2025 are Rs 20.80 crore (at Rs 5.20 crore per month) and Rs 0.12 crore (at Rs 0.03 crore per month), respectively, for a total of Rs 20.92 crore. In order to give employees and pensioners timely financial support, the state administration has agreed to pay out the arrears for this period in cash.

It further stated that the updated DA and DR rates will be applied to monthly wage and pension payments starting in May 2025. In addition to applauding government workers, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the move demonstrates the state government’s dedication to the well-being of its workers and retirees and attempts to alleviate the financial strain brought on by inflation. According to the statement, he was hopeful that the government workers would follow through on the decision by carrying out their responsibilities with the greatest sincerity and commitment.
