The police are actively working to solve the missing dentist case, as stated by SP

The Lohit police are taking every possible step to solve the case of missing dentist Dr Debanjib Sharmah, who went missing on 31 May. The Arunachal government and state police have been criticized for their investigation, but Lohit SP Thutan Jamba claims that the police have given top priority to the case and have been in touch with the family. The first DNA sample could not give a conclusive report, so a second sample was collected on 14/07/2025, according to the FSL. The police arranged the DNA collection procedure at Guwahati Medical College, and the SP is pushing the FSL to send the report at the earliest. Dr Sharmah’s belongings were found undisturbed in his room. In June, a skeleton was found near Tezu, 20 kilometers downstream along the Lohit river from Tulow Resort.
