“Rhythm and Rhyme: A Festival for Literature and Light” was the theme of a three-day literary festival hosted by the English department at Himalayan University. Essay writing, poetry recital, short story writing, and a painting-sketching competition were among the literary contests held at the festival. A thought-provoking class on creative writing techniques was presented by poet Subi Taba. The significance of artistic writing in assisting aspiring authors in honing their skill was underlined throughout the conversation. She answered questions from students who wanted to write and gave advice on how to develop their writing abilities during an engaging session with Himalayan University instructors and students.
The ceremony was also attended by Paalin Kabak, a well-known actress who co-starred in the Bollywood film Bhediya, and Dr. Doyir Ete, an associate professor in the English department at Rajiv Gandhi University. Initiatives like this will undoubtedly help today’s youngsters rediscover the value of literature as they are becoming disengaged from it. It is more than just a festival; it offers a variety of activities that provide students throughout the state a stage.
“I had the best experience witnessing the drama performance and stage construction,” Paalin Kabak said, praising the project. The play successfully conveyed the spirit of antiquity, which is crucial to drama. The English department students performed a ball dance and a play version of Christopher Marlowe’s Dr. Faustus as part of the literary event. With more than 300 people in attendance, day three kept the crowd enthralled.
