Union Minister Kiren Rijiju took center stage at Itanagar, addressing the local media of Arunachal Pradesh to highlight his ten years of achievements as a Union Minister, specifically tailored to the context of the state. Accompanied by Techi Kaso, the uncontested MLA of Itanagar, Rijiju outlined a myriad of accomplishments, focusing particularly on developments in border areas, road and highway infrastructure, including the Trans Arunachal Highway, and enhanced network connectivity to border villages.
He also shed light on initiatives such as the Vibrant Village Programme. Touching upon sensitive issues, Rijiju addressed concerns regarding Chakma refugee settlement and the implications of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He also acknowledged the Christian Forum’s call to support Christian candidates in the elections.
Regarding the Chakma refugee issue, Rijiju assured that the government has been actively addressing the matter, albeit with discretion. He emphasized that efforts have been made to engage with the Assam government to identify suitable relocation sites for the refugees
