With the onset of monsoon, fever, cold and cough, how to protect yourself?

As soon as the monsoon starts, fever, cold, and cough! Today someone is suffering from this disease tomorrow. During the rainy season, the temperature suddenly drops slightly. At the same time, due to the increase in humidity, the prevalence of viruses and bacteria increases at this time. Along with waterborne and mosquito-borne diseases. Be it school or office, people of any age can be infected anywhere. How is it possible to be protected in this situation?

Doctor Arindam Biswas says that fever, cold, and cough can have different types and causes. Allergic rhinitis can also be caused by bacteria and viruses. Getting wet in sudden rain or staying in an AC office with wet clothes for a long time can also lead to a cold and fever. Again, mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and malaria can also occur during this time.

How can fever, cold, and cough spread?
Arindam says, during a cold and cough, one person’s ‘droplets’ or water particles can get into someone else’s body. Again, it can fall on any object. If that ‘droplet’ enters another’s body through the nose, eyes, or mouth, he can also fall ill. On the other hand, many times students have to go out in sick condition if there is a situation of not taking leave at work or an exam. That way?

Doctors advice:

  1. From public transport to office, school-college, who is sick must wear a mask. In this case, others can use masks to stay healthy. Because it is impossible to tell when the ‘droplet’ will fall from the nearby person’s sneeze or cough. Be careful yourself.
  2. Hand washing is very important, says Suvarna Goswami. Because no one knows where the ‘droplet’ of the sick person has fallen, be it the office desk or an outside place. Droplets may have come on the table. It was caught in the hand without knowing. If you put those hands on your mouth, eyes, and nose, you can also get infected.
  3. Doctor Arindam Biswas says, in this case,’social distancing’ can be effective in the COVID situation. Keep a distance of 6–8 feet from the sick person.
  4. There is AC at work. AC needs to be cleaned at regular intervals, says Arindam. Otherwise, the dust accumulated in the AC may cause an allergic reaction. Sneezing is not uncommon.
  5. A balanced diet, adequate sleep, and proper exercise are necessary to increase immunity.
