Officers of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police get fresh veggies from farmers in Arunachal Pradesh

The 59th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), based in Nafra in the Bichom district of Arunachal Pradesh, received the first shipment of fresh veggies in a historic initiative to support local agriculture and the well-being of security forces. Bichom district deputy commissioner Bopai Puroik formally flagged off the shipment on Thursday, according to officials. Under the auspices of “Mission Arun Himveer,” the program is the first step in a long-term partnership that will connect the state’s farmers with the nation’s border security troops.

The ITBP and the Arunachal Pradesh Agricultural Marketing Board (APAMB) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), and this consignment is the first step towards achieving its goals. The project’s goal is to guarantee ITBP employees stationed in high-altitude and distant locations, where fresh produce is frequently hard to get, a steady and superior supply of locally grown veggies. In addition to receiving fresh and wholesome goods, this cooperation will help the ITBP advance the socioeconomic growth of the area.

The mission By creating a direct market connection between farmers and the security forces, Arun Himveer is expected to create a mutually beneficial ecology. This will enable local farmers to have a stable source of income while also bolstering the morale and health of soldiers operating in challenging environments.Arunachal
