A disturbing incident unfolded in Ziro, located in the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, as three individuals from Kerala were discovered deceased in a hotel room on April 2nd, 2024. The unsettling revelation came after a verbal report reached the Ziro Police Station at 10:30 AM, detailing the disappearance of a guest identified as Naveen Thomas, accompanied by his wife and a friend, who had checked into the hotel on March 28th, 2024.
Staff members of the hotel informed authorities that the guests had not been sighted since April 1st. Acting on suspicion, the hotel staff gained access to the locked room on April 2nd, only to find all occupants deceased inside. Upon arrival at the scene, the police discovered the lifeless bodies of three individuals in different locations within the room. Among them, Arya B Nair, aged 29 from Sreeragam, Trivandrum, was found deceased on the bed, her wrist bearing a deep cut from a sharp blade. Devi B, aged 39 from Meenadam, Kottayam, was found on the floor with cut marks on her neck and wrist.
The male victim, identified as Naveen Thomas, aged 39 from Meenadam, Kottayam, was found in the bathroom with a cut mark on his left wrist. It was revealed that Naveen Thomas and Devi B were husband and wife. Authorities, aided by forensic experts from PTC Banderdewa, conducted a thorough search of the room and collected all available evidence. Post-mortem examinations are scheduled for the following day.
Subsequently, three Unnatural Death (UD) cases under section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) have been registered and assigned to SI J. Doye for investigation. Initial inquiries have uncovered a missing First Information Report (FIR) registered against deceased Arya B Nair in Trivandrum.
